An Anthropological introduction to YouTube

This is an interesting talk on the introduction of YouTube from an anthropological perspective.  Long clip but very fascinating.

  1. I found this talk fascinating too, Loren, and it made me wonder what would transpire if we could sit in a room with a theologian, a psychologist, an economist and a biologist! I would love to hear the reflections around “anonymity + physical distance + rare & ephemeral dialogue” appears (at least to Welsh) to enable (Welsh’s word) “hatred as public performance” or the “freedom to experience humanity without fear or anxiety.” If, for example, anxiety is the emotional response to changes in the environment, both good and bad (according to some researchers), have we gained something by removing the anxiety?
